Details of Series: The Post-Rehabilitative Fitness Conditioning Series begins with the Foundations Course. Topics cover advanced skeletal and muscular anatomy and the development of exercise programming methodologies for orthopedic and structurally related conditions using the Will Power Matrix. Students will also learn to create and market a successful Post-Rehabilitation Program by using research, population demographics and networking groups.
Workshop Objectives:
* Establish a working knowledge of functional anatomy, joint actions and human kinetics.
* Understand chronic pain complaints, orthopedic conditions and clinical treatment options.
* Learn the unique Will Power matrix and apply it to a variety of conditions while understanding program design progressions for clients and patients.
* Comprehend new venues of continuing education including myofascial application, human cadaver dissection and advanced post-rehab education.
* Gain in-depth knowledge of the dynamic changes in the US demographic using federal, state and private statistical data directly from the government and medical practitioners. January 20, 2007

About the Presenter William J. Smith:
With vast and varied experience in the health and fitness industry, including positions at Schwinn Cycling and Fitness, Equinox Fitness Clubs (Elite Plus Trainer), Stevens Institute of Technology (Head Strength and Conditioning Coach), St. John's University (Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and educational programming coordinator), and The New York Road Runner's Foundation, William Smith continues to be recognized as an established leader in his field.
Will's comprehensive rehabilitation and fitness education has evolved in his association with CANDO Fitness Clubs (NJ), JCC (NYC) and DRIVE 495 (NYC) as a Post Rehabilitation Specialist. Will continues to earn additional medical certifications and experience through his associations with St. Barnabas Healthcare System, NY Presbyterian Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital and Hospital for Special Surgery.
Personally, Will practices what he preaches with numerous triathlon and marathon finishes as well as membership in the National Strength/Conditioning Association (NSCA), American Association of Allied Health Professionals, United States Weightlifting and Phi Epsilon Kappa Honors Fraternity. He is an ACE CEC Faculty Provider.
Will earned his BS in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University, his MS in Education-Health Programming from St. John's University and is currently attaining his Post Grad Certificate Premedical Sciences at Rutgers University. He is currently co-authoring TRI-FLEX, a holistic training book for tri-athletes. |
