Printer-Friendly Format

June 5, 2006 - William J. Smith has completed the rigorous course and received the high level Doctor recommendations to become an ACE CEC Provider.

Will is moving in the direction of trainer education and professional development programming for fitness and allied health professional. Will is currently lecturing and giving workshops throughout the tri-state area.

What does this all mean to his clients, students, and professionals around the world?

To achieve the status of an ACE CEC Provider and what it means:

ACE-certified Professionals are required to complete 20(2.0) hours of continuing education biannually to maintain their certification. To accomplish this, ACE-certified Professionals seek out workshops, seminars, correspondence courses and industry conventions that have been awarded ACE-approved status. All approved courses must meet ACE's rigorous standards and advance the instructor's knowledge in the fitness industry. Four certifications - Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant and Clinical Exercise Specialist - require unique continuing education needs: Visit http://www.acefitness.org for more information.

Here's what it takes:
To become a member of the ACE Faculty for continuing education, course instructors must meet the following criteria:

Hold a current ACE certification or a four-year college degree in exercise science or related field*

Demonstrate one year of experience teaching the subject, or experience teaching a similar subject for a minimum of two years

Provide three written references from qualified professionals
