Printer-Friendly Format

October 14, 2006 - A groundbreaking initiative for establishing greater continuity in patient and consumer education was achieved with the 1st Will Power and Fitness Associates and Newark Beth Israel Joint Post-Rehabilitation Workshop. This workshop was the first of its kind between a fitness organization and established medical center to host an informative piece specifically on educating personal trainers and those whom serve the fitness/health industry.

Founder William Smith sees this as a step in a positive direction because currently there a substantive disconnect between medicine and fitness. "By Newark Beth Israel, and on a greater level the St. Barnabas Healthcare System, opening its doors today, I am confident the workshop content covered in our workshop this afternoon will produce a viable educational tool for developing a mutual respect between the clinical and practical care continuum"

Recently named to the Solucient 100 Top Hospitals, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, has been a resource in the region for more than 100 years. As a teaching hospital, it provides the most advanced treatment and services, community-based programs and graduate physician education.
